oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (with whole wheat flour!)

A few days ago we wanted to make some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies but, due to our recent bread baking, didn't have enough white flour for the cookies. Braed went online and found out that you can substitute whole wheat flour for white if you add an additional 50% baking soda. So we tried it. And they're super good! They definitely taste a lil nuttier than if we'd used white flour, but with the oatmeal I think it works. Here, try it for yourself:

Ingredients:
  • 1 c butter
  • 1 1/4 c brown sugar
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 T milk
  • 2 t vanilla
  • 2 1/4 c whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 t baking soda
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 2 c oats
  • 12 oz chocolate chips
Mix together, put on a greased baking sheet (or pre-heated pizza stone) and bake at 375 degrees F for 10 minutes. Pour yourself a tall glass of milk and enjoy!
