word sauce

So, a while back when I was searching for a name for my little etsy site (I finally decided on ABookFull.etsy.com) I was doing a lot of word-hunting in the amazing book Mrs. Byrne's Dictionary of Unusual, Obscure, and Preposterous Words in an effort to find a cool name. I had forgotten all about this list until I ran across it here, in my unpublished blog posts, and I thought you might enjoy it. Here are some amazing words I came across in my search, not all pertinent to bookbinding; some are just delicious on their own.
  • brimborian—something nonsensical
  • calcographer—one who draws with crayons
  • callidity—craftiness
  • centonism—collating of new or borrowed materials into a new form of art
  • chartaceous—of or like paper
  • book sauce—information (this one was from urbandictionary.com)
  • clodpolish—awkward
  • clinomania—excessive desire to stay in bed
  • cockalorum—a little man with delusions of grandeur
  • cogger—a phony flatterer
  • colligation—a binding together
  • complect—to connect together; to intertwine
  • concinnity—skillful blending
  • cuggermugger—whispered gossiping
  • cynanthropy—a type of insanity in which the person thinks she is a dog
  • acuchla—Irish for darling
  • adipose—fatty
  • anatine—ducklike
As you can see, I didn't get very far in the dictionary. There are still so many words to be discovered!
