tonight i made a shirt

Braeden is camped out at the movie theater tonight for the midnight showing of The Avengers. Although I am a natural night owl I tend to fall asleep whenever I watch a movie (I'm pretty sure it's genetic: thanks, Mom), so I opted out of the midnight showing.

 So, while I had the house—and, most importantly, the study—to myself, I made a shirt. You know, because what else would I do? Normal things. I used a pattern I found via Pinterest that looked really easy and it was! The hardest part for me was cutting the fabric in a straight line because it was too big for my largest cutting mat. Luckily, when all was said and done the straight cuts weren't super important. I cut the bottom a little curved, like a button down shirt, to help compensate for any rough, exposed edges so...win. All in all I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out! I've seen a variation of this same shirt with vintage scarves which looks pretty fun too. Maybe next time.
