some things...

Here are some things that we have been up to recently:

Braeden has been sleeping with his new video game controller sleep mask
so I can use the iPad in bed and it doesn't keep him awake.
Plus, he looks really cute: win win.

We found this giant creature on our bedroom wall the other morning.
Normally I try to free household pests instead of killing them,
but this was so large and terrifying that it did not survive...

We saw President Obama when he came to speak on the UI campus.
It was a long, hot, sweaty wait. But it was worth it.

Didn't believe me? Look! Here he is! So close and yet, so far...

Braeden measured out our study and made a floor plan so we could most efficiently figure out
how we (and by we I mean me) wanted to rearrange the furniture before having to do any heavy lifting.
It was so successful that we made another one for the front room. I love it!

That's pretty much it. We're also finishing up our Spring semester, Braeden is graduating with his Masters in Spanish Literature, we finally finished writing the last of our thank you notes (our one year anniversary is the 14th of this month, no big deal), and we're working on starting a non-profit library on the Southeast side of Iowa City. So, you know, normal things.
